Dominion Energy Utah has suspended a marketing campaign after complaints prompted the Utah Division of Public Utilities to issue a consumer alert about “misleading mailers offering insurance services on gas company letterhead.”
Division Director Chris Parker issued the alert Monday after receiving complaints about envelopes bearing Dominion Energy logos, containing paperwork with a gas company letterheard, promoting insurance services offered by HomeServe.
“Consumers have contacted investigators to say the envelopes printed with Dominion Energy logos are confusing and look like gas bills or company correspondence,” he said.
HomeServe provides insurance coverage on utility lines that come off main lines to serve individual homes and are the homeowner’s financial responsibility.
