Huntsville • Authorities on Christmas Eve towed nearly 40 cars from the Utah state road leading up to Snowbasin Resort.
The Standard-Examiner reports a release Monday from the Weber County sheriff's office says deputies began towing vehicles parked illegally along State Road 226 to help "facilitate safe travel for motorists and the efficient and effective removal of snow by the plows" after an overnight snow storm.
The sheriff's office says a total of 38 vehicles were towed, all of which were parked in a posted "no parking" zone.
Snowbasin Resort apologized and responded to online criticism from visitors on social media, saying the resort offered rides to guests that couldn’t find a way home.
