Real Salt Lake traveled over the Great Divide for the first leg of the Rocky Mountain Cup. It seemed to most to be a foregone result, but perhaps it was the hope of the only trophy that the Colorado Rapids believed they could win this year, because they seemed to take this game far more seriously than their previous matches this year. In many ways, RSL was lucky to get the full 3 points out of this one.
