Chris Schuler suspended one match

The hits just keep on coming.

The MLS Disciplinary Committee has handed down a one-match suspension and an undisclosed fine to RSL center back Chris Schuler for a dangerous play that endangered the safety of an opposing player. The play in question happened in the 10th minute in the match against Sporting Kansas City last week when Schuler made a controversial tackle on SKC midfielder Gerso Fernandes.

Schuler will miss RSL’s home match-up against FC Dallas this weekend, which only adds to their long list of backline absences.

Aaron Maund, who has been out with an injury for quite a while, played 61 minutes in the Real Monarchs’ 2-1 victory over the Swope Park Ranges last weekend, so it’s possible that we could see him make a return to the pitch for RSL this week as well.
