Provo • A visit from a school BYU has dominated recently turned out to be just what the Cougars needed to end their three-game losing skid.
Yoeli Childs scored 31 points and grabbed seven rebounds and BYU pummeled Utah State 95-80 Wednesday night at the Marriott Center.
BYU improved to 6-4 with the win, while Utah State fell to 7-1 and lost its seventh-straight game to BYU.
BYU shot 56 percent from the field and held USU to 48 percent in rebounding from Saturday’s 113-103 loss at Weber State.
Trailing by 19 at halftime, USU got back-to-back 3-pointers by Brock Miller and Merrill — its first two triples of the night — to get back into the game.
