A Wellington City police officer was “involved in a shooting” about 7 p.m., Carbon County sheriff’s deputies wrote in a news statement late Tuesday. A male died in the shooting, and the officer was unharmed. Deputies did not immediately say whether the person was a youth or an adult or describe the circumstances leading up to the shooting.
