Emery made the announcement via Twitter Tuesday morning that is retiring from the Cougars and the game after three seasons at BYU. He had one year of eligibility remaining.
“We are excited for Nick as he begins this next stage of his life,” BYU head coach Mark Pope said in a news release. “He has great things ahead.”
Emery was part of the fabled “Lone Peak three" team, along with Eric Mika and TJ Haws, that signed with BYU after winning the mythical boys national high school championship in 2012. Only Haws remains from that incoming group of players.
