Stephanie Barclay, an associate professor of law, joined the faculty at BYU’s law school in 2018, according to a biography published by the campus, which also announced her selection. She studies First Amendment law, particularly freedom of religion.
Barclay, 31, is listed as a contributor at The Federalist Society, a group of attorneys who have pushed to appoint more conservative judges to the courts. Her biography says she has drafted multiple Supreme Court briefs, including in defense of a Muslim inmate who wanted to wear a religious beard.
