Despite being widely expected to be called up to Slovakia for the once-postponed EURO 2020 tournament, Real Salt Lake midfielder Albert Rusnak has been left off Slovakia’s final roster.
Rusnak, 26, has been a near-constant figure for Slovakia since his arrival at Real Salt Lake. He featured heavily in Slovakia’s 2018 World Cup Qualification campaign. Slovakia did not make the World Cup, barely missing out on the playoffs for the eight best runners-up in the qualification stage.
He had been largely expected to feature at EURO 2020 for Slovakia, and Rusnak’s omission will sting, though it does leave him available for Real Salt Lake for an extended period this summer.
