A man who caused a disturbance on a JetBlue flight from San Francisco to New York — causing thet plane to divert to Salt Lake City — was jailed after an altercation with local police.
The flight was diverted on Thursday morning to remove the unruly passenger, who, according to Salt Lake Police, walked off the plane but then “refused to comply with officer’s commands and began to resist.” Officers used a taser to subdue him, but while he was being placed in a police vehicle he spit in the face of one of the officers.
Brian Duffy Regan, 53, was booked in to jail for for investigation of assault on a police officer, interfering with arresting officer, disorderly conduct and intoxication.
