Drivers should plan for 30-minute delays on northbound Interstate 15 in downtown Salt Lake City this Sunday, the Utah Department of Transportation warns.
UDOT plans to reduce the freeway to two northbound lanes at 800 South from 9 p.m. Saturday until 5 a.m. Monday. It says that long delays should be expected throughout that time.
This will be the first of three consecutive weekends for such closures at the spot.
They are needed to make permanent repairs to a large hole that formed last March in the freeway that allowed seeing all the way through the bridge deck to the street below.
