Three Purdue Basketball Players Invited to Team USA U-19 Tryout

Coach Painter’s connections to team USA have paid huge dividends for Purdue basketball. The Boilers represented the US at 2017 World University Games, taking home a silver medal. Caleb Swanigan, Carsen Edwards, and Trevion Williams have all logged time with Team USA’s U-19 and younger squads. Robbie Hummel was a World Champion with 3x3 basketball (and unfortunately missed qualifying for the Olympics this year.

This summer we will see more Team USA connections as Jaden Ivey, Caleb Furst AND Trey Kaufman-Renn were all invited to tryout for Team USA’s spot in the FIBA Men’s U-19 World Cup later this summer:

The athletes, age 19 years or younger, will compete June 20-22, in Fort Worth, Texas, in hopes of being named to the 12-member team that will represent the USA at the 2021 FIBA U19 World Cup for Men.
