Injuries and bad luck may have ended the full court career prematurely for Robbie Hummel, but the BTN/ESPN commentator is not totally done with the game of basketball. The 3 on 3 game is undergoing a revolution and today Hummel became a World Champion as a result:
This was the inaugural FIBA 3x3 World Cup and Hummel helped Team USA to a championship. He led Team USA with 46 points over 7 games, 3rd most of anyone in the tournament. That led to him being named tournament MVP.
There is even better news: 3x3 will be an Olympic sport next summer in Tokyo and Rob stands an excellent chance of representing the USA once again when that comes around.
