Purdue (29-21, 7-11 Big Ten) is in the midst of a 4-7 slide and could use a victory in the team’s last game at home to propel them into their final series of the season this weekend at Minnesota.
Indiana State (20-26, 12-11 Missouri Valley) is no Goliath. In fact, it’s a middle-of-the-road Missouri Valley Conference team. The Sycamores may pose a threat on the base paths, however. The Sycamores bat .287 as a team, third-best in the league, and although they have the fewest home runs of any team in the MVC, they have the second-most steals on the most attempts.
