Back in mid April Purdue was 15-15 after an 18-8 home loss to Minnesota. Its RPI was well over 100 and the NCAA tournament was a pipe dream.
Since then Purdue ripped off a stunning 22-4 stretch. That was enough for a runner up finish in the Big Ten regular season and tournament. The Boilers also rose to a final RPI of 31. The 37-19 record tied for the second most wins in any season in school history.
That all paid off with the third NCAA Tournament berth in program history. Purdue is the 2 seed in the Chapel Hill Regional and will play Houston Friday afternoon at 2pm, and all games are available via the watch ESPN streaming service.
