Swanigan, a McDonald's All-American and five-star, blue-chip recruit, has announced he will be playing with the Boilermakers this coming season. The 6-foot-8-inch power forward decommitted from the Michigan State squad earlier this month. Since then, there was no word on exactly where Swanigan would take his talent.
Swanigan's mentor and legal guardian, Roosevelt Barnes, was a former Purdue football and basketball player, but Swanigan was strongly considering California. After his decommittment, rumors of taking a spot on the Kentucky Wildcat's roster circulated also.
Now Swanigan is a Boilermaker and it is likely that Purdue will be a top-15 team this season.
