According to our friend Nathan Baird at the Lafayette Journal and Courier, it appears as Steve Lutz will be named later today to replace Coach Owens, who recently left for the head coaching job at Miami of Ohio.
This is a tremendous hire for Coach Painter.
Lutz is a long time assistant coach and his most recent stop was with Creighton. He has also coached at Stephen F. Austin, SMU, Garden City Community College & Incarnate Word.
But since 2010, he has coached with an extremely successful Creighton. Lutz has a pretty successful recruiting profile while at Creighton.
