Last weekend was rough for Purdue, as the baseball Boilers were outscored 29-5 in three games by California to fall to 1-5. That record is a bit deceiving. Purdue has played four games against teams currently in most of college baseball's top 25 polls, losing all four. That helps with schedule strength, but not as much as winning a game or two would have.
This weekend they have a chance to get back on the winning track as they travel to East Tennessee State. Purdue will play the Bucs four times in three days starting at 4pm today.
