Purdue and the First Down Chant Debate

Ah yes, an old tradition for Purdue has returned. No, we’re not talking about having a good football team, scoring points, or living up to the Cradle of Quarterbacks tradition. We’re talking about the “First down, bitch!” chant the Purdue student section chants after each first down.

I know, many of you forgot it existed after the last four years of football, but it has returned. With its resurgence, Purdue is trying to stop it for the 198th time this decade. According to a post on the Purdue subreddit, members of Purdue’s student section, the Ross-Ade Brigade, were sent this email regarding the chant:
