After spending time as a standout defensive linemen with the Purdue Boilermakers and a brief stint in the NFL, Matt Mitrione took up the sport of Mixed Martial Arts and has has some pretty big moments during his fighting career.
Mitrione is set to take on fellow heavyweight Timothy Johnson in the Co-Main Event at Bellator 243 at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Montville, Connecticut on Friday night.
He holds a record of 13 wins and 7 defeats since he became a professional MMA fighter back in 2009. Although MMA has nowhere near the viewership that leagues like the NFL, NBA or MLB, Matt has made a nice name for himself in that community.
