Purdue traveled home following an extremely frustrating loss against Maryland on Tuesday. The Boilermakers bounced by with a win over Northwestern by a score of 75-70.
It wasn’t all smooth sailing for Matt Painter’s team as Northwestern scrapped for much of the game to make it a closely contested ballgame.
Things started off as a blowout when Purdue bolted out to a 9-1 lead early on, moving like a well-oiled machine on both sides of the ball. Later on, Jaden Ivey hit a three-pointer to extend Purdue’s lead to 13 at the 2:53 mark of the first half before Northwestern went on a 12-2 run to make the score 35-32 heading into the break.
