Purdue may have the size, but Michigan has the speed, and the latter won in the 2nd match-up of the season.
Purdue had its chance to extend its lead and utilize their bigs, but didn't. Even Painter acknowledged that the team missed many opportunities when they had the chance.
For the first time this season, Purdue was out-rebounded by an opponent, as Michigan earned 39 rebounds to Purdue's 35. Coach Painter noted that a handful of those rebounds were from Michigan getting long rebounds, utilizing their speed and aggressiveness to grab rebounds Purdue typically gets. Coach Beilein was excited to see that stat, as it allowed Michigan to get 2nd chance points and prevent Purdue from getting a basket.
