Markell Jones, the player Purdue can least afford to lose, is still on the mend according to what Darrell Hazell said in today’s Big Ten teleconference:
"I talked to him last night," said Hazell, who is on the road recruiting. "He's doing better; a little bit sore. Obviously we'll take this week and be cautious with him."
if Jones has to miss any extended time it looks like there will be a running back by committee. Jones leads Purdue with 192 yards and two touchdowns through two games.
in terms of reserves, Brian Lankford-Johnson is second in rushing yardage with 58, but 48 came on one play against Eastern Kentucky.
