Permanent lights are being installed in Ross-Ade Stadium this offseason. However, construction efforts to raise the new lights were burnt out last Friday. One of the new lighting columns collapsed during installation as it was being lifted by a crane in the southeast section of Ross-Ade.
Thankfully, no one was injured.
According to Mike Carmin at the Journal & Courier, the incident should not delay the lights project, and construction should resume sometime this week. Coincidentally, athletic director, Mike Bobinski, saw the incident occur:
