The Minnesota Golden Gophers got a huge boost this past Saturday as they defeated the Purdue Boilermakers 41-13. One of the big reasons they went on to the blowout win was freshman running back Shannon Brooks.
In the game, Brooks went for 206 yards, including a 71-yard run in the fourth quarter that further sealed the victory for the Gophers. According to Fox Sports, Minnesota head coach Jerry Kill compared Brooks to a former Gopher legend following his big game.
“Shannon Brooks is going to be a heck of a back. He reminds me of Marion Barber,” coach Kill said.
