As of this writing the Old Oaken Bucket has been in exile for 1,451 days. Purdue last had possession of it on November 30, 2013, but the Darrell Hazell era made sure it took up permanent residence in Bloomington. By Saturday that will extend to 1,456 days, officially tying the longest stretch the Bucket has ever been absent from West Lafayette. It was gone for 1,456 days from November 25, 1944 when Indiana won 14-6 until November 20, 1948 when Purdue won it back 39-0. If we wake up Sunday morning and it is still in Bloomington it will officially be the longest amount of time it has ever been away from West Lafayette.
