On Dec. 20, 2008, the No. 22 Davidson Wildcats, led by Curry, squared off against the No. 13 Purdue Boilermakers in the Wooden Tradition in Indianapolis. Purdue dominated from start to finish. The Boilermakers got out to a 21-0 lead and never looked back, cruising to a 76-58 victory.
The Boilermakers used Curry’s strongest weapon – 3-point shooting – against him. Purdue shot 11-18 from 3-point land while the Wildcats were a mere 9-of-29 from distance.
“What’s interesting ... is we started to make a little dent,” Davidson head coach Bob McKillop said after the game. “Every time we made a dent, they’d come down and nail a 3 after one pass.
