We knew there was a decent chance at a transfer this offseason, but this one is a surprise. Grant Weatherford, who did not play this past season during a redshirt year as a true freshman, is leaving the program according to a release from Purdue:
Purdue redshirt freshman guard Grant Weatherford has announced his intention to transfer at the conclusion of the semester, head coach Matt Painter announced today.
"We wish Grant the best of luck as he looks to continue his playing career and education at another institution," Painter said.
Weatherford, a 6-2 guard from Cicero, Indiana, will have three years of Division I eligibility remaining after redshirting this past season at Purdue.
