Etling released from Purdue

Sophomore Danny Etling passes the ball deep into the end zone against Southern Illinois at Ross-Ade Stadium.

The quarterback started the first five game for the Boilermakers during the 2014 season before the spot was taken over by Austin Appleby.

Etling appeared in 13 games for the Boilermakers over the past two seasons, making 12 starts. He passed for 2,490 yards, had a 55.5 completion percentage (238-429) and threw 16 touchdown passes.

"We appreciate all the hard work and dedication that Danny has put into the Purdue program," said Purdue head football coach Darrell Hazell in a University press release.
