David Boudia & Steele Johnson Qualify for 2016 Olympics

The diving duo has officially qualified for Rio in the 10-meter synchronized competition.

At the U.S. Olympic Diving Trials here in Indianapolis this week there was a definitely Purdue flavor with seven divers representing the Boilers. After tonight two of those divers are officially going to Rio for the 2016 Summer Olympics in at least one event.

Boudia and Johnson ran away with the competition, qualifying with a score of 1,326.57 points. This was more than 238 points better than the runner-up duo. Max Showalter, also of Purdue, finished third with partner Zachary Cooper. Showalter recently finished his freshman year at Purdue, so even though he did not qualify for Rio he stands an excellent chance of making it to Tokyo in 2020.
