Yancey played during the dark ages of Purdue Football, and his effectiveness went relatively unnoticed. He could have been a very good receiver in the system we are currently in, but that is neither here or there.
Yancey finished his Purdue Career with, 141 catches, 2344 yards, 20 touchdowns (16.6 YPC). His Senior year was by far his best season, catching 49 passes for 951 yards and 10 touchdowns.
Yancey played himself into the NFL Draft, while he was at Purdue during the dark ages, where there was literally no national buzz, Yancey was selected in the 5th round by the Green Bay Packers.
