Boilermakers bring home individual golds from Big Ten Championships

The men's team had two conference champions, Chukwuebuka Enekwechi in the hammer throw and Matthew McClintock in the 5,000-meter race and tied for eight place overall.

"McClintock competed like a hero," head coach Lonnie Greene said in a Purdue press release. "It blesses my heart to see a young man pour it all out like that, and that's all I could ask for."

McClintock's 5K time of 14:15.38 earned him the first Big Ten gold medal by Purdue distance runner since 2001 and the first ever in the event.

The women's team took home gold in the 100m, 400m hurdles and the 4x100m relay.
