While most students are working an internship or using summer to get a break from school, Sara Weaver, Purdue student and president of the POC, spends her summers hang gliding on the Outer Banks of North Carolina and teaching others to do the same.
Weaver, a senior in the College of Agriculture, was introduced to the sport of hang gliding in the summer of 2013, and since then, it has been her passion.
“One of my friends I went to high school with was a (hang gliding) pilot,” Weaver said. “He told me about this job where they would take you from square one and teach you how to be a pilot and then .
