Akeem Hunt and Raheem Mostert led the Boilermakers in rushing yards and both finished in the top 10 of the Big Ten in all purpose yards. Their departures leave a huge hole in the roster.
Without an experienced, standout running back, the Boilermakers will almost assuredly be forced to rely on a committee approach to the position – something head coach Darrell Hazell is ready to implement.
“The Big Ten is such a physical conference,” Hazell said. “You’re going to need at least three (running backs) to be able to contribute consistently. We will have three guys that are going to be ready.
