This weekend is Purdue’s spring football game and the 2020 recruiting cycle is starting to ramp up. It will be an interesting cycle, too. The Boilers have only 11 scholarship seniors and 10 scholarship juniors in terms of eligibility. Even the next class, guys with 3 years of eligibility left entering the 2019 season, has just 13 members. That means only 34 scholarship players on the roster have actual game experience.
Purdue will be extremely young in 2019, and somewhat shorthanded. Purdue took a max class of 25 freshmen for this fall and had to do some scholarship gymnastics to get two more, Chase Triplett and Jacob Wahlberg, on campus counting towards the 2020 limit of 25.
