Because there are some 7-team sectionals around the state there were a handful of Wednesday games at various sites. Officially, we're now down to 256 teams from 398 that started as of Tuesday night. The Purdue targets of note in action:
- Hamilton Southeastern's Zach Gunn, who had 12 points in their win over Anderson. The Anderson Indians also have a Purdue connection, as Ryne Cline completed his first season there as coach at 4-20.
- For Park Tudor Jaren Jackson led them to an easy opening victory over Indianapolis Ritter. Jackson, a junior, is averaging 16 points and 7.
