Brohm was also reportedly a candidate at the recently-opened head coach position at the University of Cincinnati and also at Baylor. Brohm is an offensive-minded coach, producing prolific offenses at WKU. He was an NFL QB, much like his younger brother Brian.
Brohm has spent time as the offensive coordinator at Louisville, UAB and Western Kentucky. He took over the head coaching job after Bobby Petrino left for Louisville. Brohm has posted a 30-10 record at WKU, with back-to-back C-USA titles.
He replaced the fired Darrell Hazell, who last three and a half years at Purdue. Hazell posted a 9-33 record in his time. Purdue hasn't had a winning season since 2011.
It's unclear if Brohm will coach WKU in the Boca Raton bowl game on Dec. 20th. The terms of Brohm's contract were not released.
