PROVIDENCE – The 2019 Providence College basketball season has hit a new low.
Set to kick off a crucial three-game home stand, the Friars failed to show up in the second half and were knocked around by Xavier Saturday at a sold out Dunkin’ Donuts Center, 75-61
The loss is PC’s fifth in six games and sends the Friars (14-12, 4-9) into last place in the Big East. Nate Watson led the Friars with 16 points.
Tyrique Jones led the Musketeers with 19 points, Naji Marshall added 14 and Zach Hankins chipped in 13. Xavier (13-13, 5-8) ripped the Friars for 49 points on 73 percent shooting in the second half and has won two in a row.
