PROVIDENCE – The Dunkin’ Donuts Center is hoping to fill an opening on the NCAA’s dance card created by the state of North Carolina’s controversial HB2 law.
On Monday, the NCAA announced it would relocate seven previously awarded championship events from North Carolina during the 2016-17 academic year. The NCAA’s Board of Governors said it made the decision “because of the cumulative actions taken by the state concerning civil rights protections.” One of the events that needs a new home is the always-popular, and lucrative, men’s basketball tournament games that were scheduled to be played in Greensboro, N.
