ANNAPOLIS, Md. — Both Ed Cooley and Greg Marshall expect to battle growing pains as their teams ramp up to speed this season. After opening night, they’re just going about things a bit differently.
Cooley’s Providence Friars began their season with a 77-67 win over Siena. Freshman shooter A.J. Reeves opened eyes with a smashing debut as he poured in seven 3-pointers and 29 points in the win.
The opener for Marshall’s Wichita State Shockers didn’t go as well. Louisiana Tech went into Wichita’s Koch Arena and pulled off a 71-58 upset.
