White might give Friars double threat in backcourt

    PROVIDENCE — After more than 25 seasons as an assistant and head coach at Division II power Virginia Union, Willard Coker knows who can play and who cannot.
    That’s why when he speaks about Providence College recruit Maliek White, Friars fans should get excited. White, a 6-foot-2 guard, is currently PC’s only addition to the Class of 2016.
    “Maliek was the best player on the court every night,” said Coker, who was head coach at Virginia Union from 2008-11 before becoming White's high school coach.
