What Luwane Pipkins Brings to Providence

Providence picked up a commitment from graduate transfer Luwane Pipkins on Sunday afternoon. Pipkins is a point guard who starred at the University of Massachusetts over the past three years, and he fits Providence’s needs in so many ways.

The Friars’ offensive struggles this past season were well documented, and Pipkins will directly address their biggest deficiencies.

Providence ranked in just the third percentile nationally in scoring from pick and roll ball handlers and didn’t get much more production out of isolation opportunities (18th percentile).

Pipkins, who averaged 16 points, five rebounds, and five assists per game last season, ranked in the 62nd percentile in pick and roll scoring and 61st in isolation situations.
