PROVIDENCE – The Providence Friars have dug huge holes for themselves all season long and lived to survive on many occasions. That trick didn’t work against the Villanova Wildcats Saturday at a sold out Dunkin’ Donuts Center.
Playing the highest-rated team to come into town in five years, the Friars came out flatter than flat and couldn’t close out a second half comeback in a 72-60 loss to the third rated Wildcats.
Villanova improves to 20-3 overall and remains in first place in the Big East at 10-1.
