PROVIDENCE – It was an ugly, sloppy Big East game at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center Saturday afternoon but, in the end, that suited ninth ranked Villanova just fine.
The Wildcats struggled to close the game but hung on for a 64-60 victory over the Providence Friars. ‘Nova (16-3, 6-1) had just one field goal over the final seven minutes but still got the job done.
The game was there for the Friars to take but awful offensive execution once again doomed Providence, which fell to 11-10 overall and 4-4 in conference.
