USC finished the season 21-12 and 9-9 in the Pac-10. They struggled to close out the season, losing seven of their final 10 games, but faced a difficult schedule that included Utah twice, Arizona, California, and Oregon.
This season was a huge step forward for the Trojans, who went 12-20 a year ago (3-15 in conference play).
They were picked to finish 10th in the Pac-10 in the preseason, but finished sixth. Junior point guard Julian Jacobs was named 1st Team Pac-10 after averaging 11.6 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 5.4 assists per game.
