PROVIDENCE - After a two-loss week that inflicted heavy damage to their national stature, the Providence Friars fell in the national polls announced Monday.
The Friars (18-6 overall, 6-5 Big East) dropped from 11th last week to 20th in the Associated Press media poll and to 17th in the USAToday coaches poll. This is the 11th consecutive week the Friars have been ranked among the Top 25, the most by a PC team since the 1978 season.
The Friars had their worst week of the season after losing at DePaul, 77-70, and at home to Villanova, 72-60.
