In the end, Villanova had too many answers and Providence made too many mistakes, as the Wildcats once again ended the Friars’ run in Madison Square Garden with a 73-62 win. Nova is now 10-1 against Providence all time in the Big East Tournament.
Nate Watson led PC with 15 points, while Alpha Diallo and Isaiah Jackson both had 14 in the loss. AJ Reeves grabbed a season high 10 rebounds.
With the loss, Providence’s streak of five consecutive years with an NCAA tournament appearance comes to an end and PC will see if they qualified for the NIT this weekend.
