NEWARK, N.J. - Providence faced a Seton Hall team down to nine scholarship players and essentially a six-man rotation on Wednesday night. But the Pirates still managed a 72-70 overtime win at the Prudential Center.
Providence was in control for most of the first half, but a stagnant second-half offensive performance opened the door for Seton Hall.
"Another Big East battle," said PC coach Ed Cooley. "I think Seton Hall was gritty, they made the right play last. I thought we had opportunities in regulation and in overtime. This is the fourth game that we've lost in our league basically with a minute to play.
