PROVIDENCE — Myles Powell scored two goals and Christian Short made 28 saves as the Rochester Institute of Technology men’s hockey team shut out ninth-ranked Providence College, 4-0, on Saturday at Schneider Arena.
It was the Friars first shutout at Schneider since Feb. 15, 2014, against Notre Dame.
PC drops to 10-7-1 (6-4-1) while RIT improves to 8-7-1 (7-3-0 AHC).
The teams settled for a split of their weekend series. PC had beaten RIT on Friday night, 8-3.
The Tigers jumped out in front at the 3:19 mark of the first period as Chris McKay netted his first of the season to put RIT up.
