Providence College will host Arkansas in a first-round NIT game on Tuesday. The Friars are a No. 4 seed in the just-announced tournament’s 32-team field. Arkansas is a No. 5 seed.
The Friars went 18-15 (7-11 in the Big East) this season and beat Butler in the first round of the Big East Tournament before falling to top-seed Villanova. The Razorbacks were 17-15 (8-10 in the SEC).
The tournament’s higher seeds host the early-round games, while the semifinals (April 2) and championship (April 4) will be played at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
